Kalu ‘the only leader who attracted massive construction, rehabilitation of schools in Ohafia as Governor and Senator’ – Ibem Onwuka
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission, SEDC has been inundated with words of appreciation from the good people of Ohafia in Abia North Senatorial District, for all the numerous infrastructural developments he has brought to Ohafia and Abia North by extension both as a governor and a senator.
This came as a result of the completion of Ndi Orieke Ohafia road by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. Mr. Ibem while praising the good works of Kalu made it clear that the road for quite a long time was inaccessible for commuters to ply the road. However, the derelict road has now been brought back to life by the visible intervention of Sen. Kalu representing the Senatorial District at the upper chamber of National Assembly.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has announced the completion of the ever impassable and long abandoned Ndi Orieke Ohafia road. You can now access Ndi Orieke Ohafia either through Abia Ohafia road or the Eziafor-Biakpan road. The Ndi Orieke residents can now heave a sigh of relief as their years of suffering and not having access to the road to their community has come to an abrupt end through the intervention of the Abia North Senator, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.” Ibem noted.
Mr. Ibem while thanking Sen. Kalu on his Facebook page, revealed that many people had lost their lives on the said road, especially during the rainy season because of how bad the road was until Kalu stepped in.
Ibem further revealed that sick people and dead corpses had to be carried on the head for over one (1) kilometer before they got to the Eziafor-Asaga junction. It was a nightmare for the people, he stressed.
“Many souls have been lost on that road especially during the rainy season, as no vehicle or even motorcycle were able to ply on the road to convey a sick person or pregnant woman to the hospital.
“Even during burials, the people will have to carry the sick patients or the corpse with their hands and walk more than a kilometer in order to get to their community or link to Eziafor-Asaga junction before getting a vehicle.” Ibem opined
Aware that Kalu is the only person previously as Governor and now as a senator who has attracted massive construction of roads and other life changing infrastructures to ameliorate the suffering of the people of Ohafia, Ibem couldn’t hide the joy, excitement and butterfly flying in his stomach, he poured words of encomium on the man that has turned Abia North to a construction site.
Passing a strong vote of confidence in the former Governor of Abia State, Mr. Ibem unequivocally stated that Sen. Kalu will remain indelible and dear in the hearts of the people of Ohafia.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu will remain dear to the people of Ohafia community as it is during his tenure as Governor and now as a Senator that Ohafia witnessed massive construction and rehabilitation of internal roads that links so many communities. Thank you Senator OUK for always remembering the forgotten or neglected communities, especially in Ohafia.” Ibem asserted
Recall that Kalu has attracted over 100 roads across North Senatorial District. He recently won the Best Performing Senator, an award he has won three years consecutively.
