Kano Governor: Hajj Seats, Hilux Vehicles for Every Kwankwasiyya Group

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has allocated plots of land to each Kwankwasiyya Marshal in recognition of their support for his administration before, during, and after the recent elections.  

Announcing the gesture during an Iftar event at the Government House on Tuesday, Governor Yusuf assured the Marshals that the allocation was made from government-owned land, not public properties.

“We are not taking lands from the people as was done by the previous administration,” the Governor stated. “These allocations are from government-owned land, ensuring that our supporters receive their well-deserved benefits without infringing on the rights of others.”

In addition to the land allocations, the Governor also announced the provision of Hajj seats for each group of Kwankwasiyya Marshals to enable them to perform the 2025 pilgrimage. Furthermore, he pledged brand-new Hilux vehicles to enhance their operational effectiveness.

“I appreciate your dedication and commitment,” Governor Yusuf said. “You have always stood by this administration, and as part of our democracy dividends, we will continue to support you in every possible way.”

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Marshals, Hon. Isa Musa Kumurya, lauded the administration’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.

“The Governor has ensured that the benefits of democracy reach the Kwankwasiyya Marshals just as they have reached other citizens,” he remarked.

Similarly, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Marshals, Alhaji Babangida (IBB), shared an inspiring story of a motorcycle beneficiary under Governor Yusuf’s administration.

“One of our beneficiaries sold his motorcycle, bought a plot of land, and later leased it to MTN for their service antenna. He now earns six million naira (N6,000,000) over two years,” he disclosed.

The Special Adviser on Youths, Alhaji Sani Danja, emphasized the Governor’s growing support among Kano residents, stating, “Governor Yusuf is the first leader in Kano’s history whose people pray for his success without any financial inducement. May Almighty Allah continue to guide and bless this administration in serving the people effectively.”
