Kano Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover N4.85M Ransom

The Kano State Police Command has recovered and returned N4,850,000 to a kidnapping victim in Zakirai Town, Gabasawa Local Government Area. The victim was abducted on March 8, 2025, by unknown gunmen who demanded a ransom of N15 million.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, the police arrested five suspects and rescued the victim unharmed on March 17, 2025, following an investigation and a coordinated operation.

The recovered money was handed over to the victim through the Chairman of Gabasawa Local Government Area, Sagir Usman Abubakar, who acknowledged the police effort.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said the command remains committed to maintaining security in the state.

“This operation reflects our determination to combat crime. We urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities,” he said.
