Kwankwaso Condemns Edo Mob Killings, Calls for Justice

Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has condemned the killing of seven travelers from Northern Nigeria in Edo State, describing it as a “harrowing display of mob injustice.” 

The tragic incident occurred on March 27, 2025, in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area, where 16 travelers were attacked, resulting in multiple casualties.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Kwankwaso decried the barbarity of jungle justice and called on authorities to swiftly investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

“This tragedy, which unfolded on March 27, 2025, in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi, is another sad reminder of the barbarity of jungle justice,” Kwankwaso stated. “It is common knowledge that people from all parts of the country should be able to travel without facing any form of harassment or intimidation.”

He urged law enforcement agencies to take decisive action to prevent a recurrence of such incidents, emphasizing the need for a full-scale investigation.

“I urge the concerned authorities to launch a full-scale investigation into this sad incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” he added.

The former governor also extended his condolences to the bereaved families, the Kano State Government, and other affected states.

“While praying for the repose of the victims, I extend my condolences to their families, the Kano State Government, and other affected states,” Kwankwaso stated.
