Obasanjo, Ooni, KSA fête Prince Adeyemi at 100
It was a remarkable occasion as notable dignitaries and loved ones gathered to celebrate the centenary birthday of Pa Prince Adeyemi Ologbenla, fondly known as Ękùn Ilé Gíèsí.
The grand celebration was a fusion of cherished memories, heartfelt prayers, vibrant music, and joyful dance. Adding to the electrifying atmosphere, the legendary King Sunny Ade delivered a captivating performance, infusing the night with energy, gratitude, and endless dance moments.
The hall was filled with excitement as the centenarian made his grand entrance. Women chanted his praises as the air resounded with a chorus of “Kabiyesi o!” honouring his esteemed legacy.
The celebrant, draped in regal white Yoruba attire, a cap laced with coral beads, exuded grace as he moved one limb at a time on the dance floor while being serenaded by the legendary juju maestro.
One of the most emotional moments of the event came when the celebrant was moved to tears during a touching tribute.
Among the dignitaries who graced the event was former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who paid a heartfelt tribute to the centenarian, recalling his wisdom, humility, and extraordinary life.
One of the celebration’s highlights was when he joined the celebrant on the dance floor. As the band played a lively Yoruba tune, Obasanjo and the celebrator swayed in rhythm, sharing in the joy of the remarkable milestone.
The night was made even more special by the presence of the celebrant’s children and grandchildren, who gathered around him to dance and celebrate a century of wisdom and cherished memories. Princess Adefunke Aderibigbe-Ologbenla, Prince Adeniyi Aderibigbe-Ologbenla, Prince Adetunji Aderibigbe-Ologbenla, Princess Olatayo, and Prince Adeniran Aderibigbe-Ologbenla all played key roles in making the day truly remarkable donning blue coloured attires.
Among royalties present was the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who offered prayers and blessings for the celebrant.
Adding a touch of purity to the occasion was the breathtaking seven-step white cake. The celebrant, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and well-wishers, cut the cake after the symbolic count of 100, with the Ooni of Ife joining him for the special moment.
A star-studded lineup of entertainers made the celebration even more memorable; DJ Ocean, and BJ Sax who wowed the audience with a soulful saxophone performance. Other guests include pastor Ituah Ighodalo and Reverend Father Oladeji.
