Ogun APC mourns ex-minister, Oyagbola, consoles Abiodun

The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has condoled with Governor Dapo Abiodun and the family of Nigeria’s first female cabinet minister, Adenike Ebunoluwa Oyagbola, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 94.

The ruling party described the late Oyagbola as a trailblazer for women’s empowerment, a distinguished educationist, and a dedicated public servant who contributed significantly to Nigeria’s economic planning and development.

In a statement on Sunday, the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye, said Oyagbola, who served as Minister of National Planning from 1979 to 1983, left an enduring legacy through her service to the nation.

“Ogun State has, no doubt, lost one of its revered icons, who served the nation with selfless passion. Her achievements remain exemplary and inspirational,” the statement read.

The party commended her contributions to national development, adding that she lived a life of impact and service.

“We condole with Governor Abiodun, the people of Ogun State, and the Oyagbola family on this sad loss. We pray that Almighty God grants her soul eternal rest,” the statement added.
