Osimhen happy to play with Morata

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen says he is happy to play alongside Spain international Alvaro Morata, hinting at more playing time with the former Real Madrid and Chelsea striker, NewsNGR Sports Extra reports.
Osimhen netted the winning goal for Galatasaray during their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor on Sunday with a well-placed header, bringing his tally to 17 goals this season in the Super Lig as held on to their lead on top of the table with a much-needed win.
Speaking to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Osimhen praised Morata, who played a crucial role in the win, expressing his excitement about their growing partnership.
“Playing with Morata was incredible. He is an experienced player with a great understanding of attacking play and a strong team mentality.
“I’m very happy to play alongside him, and we hope to have a season where both of us score plenty of goals,” Osimhen added.
Morata left AC Milan in January to team up with Osimhen at Galatasaray.
Since then, the Spain captain has made three league appearances, scoring one goal, while Osimhen now has 17 plus four assists in 21 games.
It, however, remains to be seen if both players will still be in Turkey next season with Osimhen linked with high-profile moves to the Premier League.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the summer transfer window as he is expected to depart Napoli for good after the 2024/25 season. He has been coy on his next destination, but he has strongly been linked with United, just as Arsenal were said to be ready to pay his €75m release clause.
The 26-year-old will hope to keep up his form at club level for Nigeria when the international window comes up next week.
Nigeria will face Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, March 21, before hosting Zimbabwe on Tuesday, March 25.
The 26-year-old, who missed the opening four games of the ill-fated series due to injuries, is also yet to feature at the FIFA World Cup, and he hopes to help the country avoid missing out on two consecutive editions.
