PFN Disclaims Viral Statement Shared By Martins Otse, Calls For Legal Action

A viral video featuring Martins Otse, in which he reshared a statement regarding his dispute with gospel singer Mercy Chinwo—allegedly from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN)—has drawn the attention of the Christian organization.

In an official press release, PFN accused Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, of fabricating and spreading false information in its name. The organization strongly condemned the act, stating that it was an attempt to mislead the public and erode trust.

PFN’s National Secretary, Bishop David Bakare, issued a statement urging authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate legal measures to curb the spread of misinformation.

Part of the statement read:

“Our attention has been drawn by the Concerned Christian Youth Forum to a fake press release allegedly issued by PFN concerning the Mercy Chinwo and VeryDarkMan matter. The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) hereby issues a formal disclaimer regarding this statement circulating on social media. It was not released by PFN and should be disregarded.”

The organization also advised its members and the general public to verify the credibility of news before sharing it, emphasizing that PFN takes no responsibility for the false statement.

As of the time of this report, VeryDarkMan, who is currently in China, has yet to respond to the allegations.
