Ramadan: Foundation donates food items, building materials in Oyo
The Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede Foundation has, in the spirit of Ramadan, donated solar lights, starter packs and building materials to support Muslims at the Akingbile Moniya community in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The foundation distributed the items on Saturday.
Its founder, Dr. Maurice Ojo-Ede, said the event commenced with the distribution of Ramadan starter packs, containing essential food items such as rice, beans, spaghetti, noodles, garri, semovita, and cooking oil to ensure that families have the necessary provisions to begin their fasts.
He said, “The foundation recognised the importance of sustainable energy, hence provided solar lights to the mosque, offering an eco-friendly solution to improve living conditions during the holy month.
“The building materials were distributed to assist in the development and renovation of the community mosque, fostering unity and progress.”
Speaking further, one of the community leaders, Mr Akintunde Sunday, thanked the foundation for its timely intervention.
The Chief Imam of the community, Usman John, who commended the gesture, said, “The OMO Foundation’s support has brought light into our homes and hopes into our hearts during this blessed month.”
He noted that the gesture echoed throughout the community, highlighting the positive impact of the foundation’s efforts to expand its charitable endeavours to the community.
