Students shine at Oluwole Christ the King inter-house sports

Students of Oluwole Christ the King School displayed exceptional sporting talents during the school’s 10th bi-annual inter-house sports competition, with Violet House emerging as the overall champion.
The event, tagged “Fitness, Friendship and Fun,” attracted parents, friends, and well-wishers who came to support the young athletes as they competed in various sporting activities.
Speaking at the occasion, the school’s Director, Samuel Oyedokun, said, “The inter-house sport is a time where our students show their individual talents.
“From the way they march and run, it is very obvious the students enjoy every bit of the inter-house sport. Oluwole Christ the King School has been known for its excellence when it comes to sports.”
The Principal, Humble Ojo, described the competition as “all shades of beauty,” noting that the graceful adornment of students representing different houses was a dazzling sight to behold.
“The energy and passion the athletes exude is next to none. They are indeed a force to reckon with,” Ojo said.
The Principal further emphasized the importance of sports in the school’s curriculum, stating, “In Oluwole Christ the King Schools, sports is given priority because it’s a medium of nurturing and harnessing the inborn abilities and potentials of our learners, as our aim is to raise balanced students who can compete with their contemporaries the world over.”
The Headmistress, Augustina Onuoha, highlighted the impact of the sporting event on the school community, saying, “We achieve our objectives of promoting friendship, fitness, and fun. We discover more children that are talented in other areas of sports and even indoor games.
“The competition brings unity, love and tolerance among staff as each of the houses works very hard to win, while also improving parent-teacher relationships as parents were actively involved in the event.”
The school has maintained its tradition of promoting sports excellence, with the Director stating during the previous edition in 2023 that their goal was to discover talents early and produce a new generation of sporting stars in various fields.
