Tinubu Approves Tenure Extension for NIS Boss  

President Bola Tinubu has approved an extension of the tenure of Kemi Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), until December 31, 2026.  

The announcement was made on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Nandap, who joined the NIS in 1989, was appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024. Her tenure was originally set to expire in August 2025 before the recent extension.

Onanuga highlighted the progress recorded by the NIS under Nandap’s leadership and noted that President Tinubu commended her for her dedication to the agency’s strategic priorities.

“The President urged the Comptroller-General to remain committed to the service’s goals, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read.

Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the NIS to enhance border security and facilitate safe, legal, and orderly migration.
