Popular Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, has shared a differing view on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Recently, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Lagos State gained public attention after expressing her frustration with the government’s handling of economic issues in a viral video. She criticized the rising cost of goods and lamented the lack of intervention to curb inflation. The Corps member also claimed she received threats from NYSC officials due to her comments, sparking widespread reactions from Nigerians, including comedian and activist Mr. Macaroni.

However, in a series of posts on her Instagram Story, Cynthia Morgan argued that Tinubu’s administration is not the worst in Nigeria’s history. She referenced Soldier of Fortune, a book by historian Max Siollun, urging Nigerians to reflect on past leaderships before making conclusions.

While acknowledging the country’s current economic struggles, the singer also made a direct appeal to President Tinubu, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address the financial burden faced by citizens.

“Tinubu is not the most terrible president Nigeria ever had but nevertheless removing 100 percent on subsidy was a terrible move,” she wrote in part.

“It is not too late to do something though, at least if fuel is 500 the cost of living will reduce. It’s only right we ease into total subsidy removal with the right development and infrastructure to sustain such decisions. A baby can’t go from milk to yam in just a day. Abeg consider us,” she added.
