Trump Suspends Military Aid to Ukraine After Fallout With Zelensky

U.S. President Donald Trump has temporarily stopped all military aid deliveries to Ukraine following a tense meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington last week.

According to the New York Times, senior administration and military officials confirmed the halt, which affects more than $1 billion in arms and ammunition orders either still in the U.S. or already en route to Ukraine.

The decision followed discussions at the White House between Trump and his national security aides, amid disagreements with Zelensky over approaches to ending the war.

U.S Officials told the Times that the suspension will remain in place until Trump determines that Ukraine has made a genuine effort in peace negotiations with Russia.

The move is expected to have significant consequences for Ukraine, which has depended on U.S. military and financial assistance since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
