The final of the Commissioner’s Cup, revived after a 23-year hiatus, will be held on Sunday at the Alade Stadium in Ipaja, Lagos, organisers have stated.

The final match will feature Dr Watts FC versus Trade Safe FC in a potentially explosive clash, while De Gunner FA face off against De Gratia FC in the third-place match. A novelty match between SGH Amazon and Flourish Queens will precede the final showdown.

Sponsored by the Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, dignitaries expected on the final day include former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lateef Ibirogba; former Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf; Lagos State Government officials, chairman of Alimosho LGA 01, Lukmon Orelope, and Kehinde Joseph, representing Alimosho LGA 02.

The tournament, which has showcased high-standard grassroots football, will see the winners, runners-up and third-place team receiving cash prizes of N500,000, N250,000, and N150,000 respectively. Trophies, medals, and individual awards for best player, highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper will also be presented.

According to the Local Organising Chairman, Tajudeen Olatigbe, the final promises to be the best ever watched in grassroots football, offering fun-filled moments for fans.
