Edo Queens wallop Kada 12-0 to advance in Federation Cup

Nigeria Women Football League champions Edo Queens FC of Benin walloped Kada Queens FC of Kaduna 12-0 in a completely one-sided President Federation Cup round of 32 encounter at the Prince Abubakar Audu University sports complex in Anyigba, Kogi State on Saturday, NewsNGR Sports Extra reports.
The NWFL Premiership champions were in devastating form as they stormed to a comprehensive victory, registering nine goals in a dominant first-half performance before adding three more after the interval to secure their progression to the round of 16 in emphatic fashion.
Mafisere Kafayat set the tone for the rout, opening the scoring in just the second minute to trigger what would become a festival of goals for the “Yellow upon Yellow” jersey girls, whose presence alone seemed to strike fear into their opponents from Kaduna.
The floodgates opened as Esther Inyang, Amarachukwu Onuorah, Goodness Osigwu, and Chioma Moses all found their names on the scoresheet as the defending NWFL champions demonstrated the gulf in class between the two sides.
Coach Moses Aduku’s charges dominated every department of the game from the first whistle to the last, turning the encounter into what appeared to be little more than a training exercise against their overwhelmed opponents.
Despite Kada Queens introducing fresh legs after the interval in an attempt to stem the tide, the Benin City-based side continued their relentless assault, adding three more goals to complete the dozen without reply.
The partisan crowd at the Prince Abubakar Audu University sports complex loudly applauded the Queens from the Ancient City for their exhibition of attacking football and technical prowess throughout the 90 minutes.
With this comprehensive victory securing their passage to the next round of the Federation Cup, Edo Queens will now turn their attention to next week’s NWFL Premiership matchday 11 fixture against Remo Stars Ladies of Ikenne in Ogun State as they continue their campaign to retain their Super 6 title.
