Gov. Yusuf’s African Good Governance Award a Triumph for Kano – Commissioner Aisha Saji

Kano State Commissioner for Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, has congratulated Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on receiving the 2025 African Good Governance Award. 

The award, presented in Marrakech, Morocco, by African Heritage Magazine, honors African leaders who exemplify transparent, accountable, and responsible leadership.

In her message, Hajiya Saji Rano described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Governor Yusuf’s commitment to good governance.

“This award not only affirms the Governor’s exceptional leadership but also underscores the collective efforts of the people of Kano in supporting his vision for a better state,” she said. “It is a moment of pride for all of us in Kano to see our leader’s efforts in promoting transparency and accountability on the African stage.”

Governor Yusuf was honored at a ceremony attended by renowned figures like Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, and Uganda’s Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.

The award was presented on behalf of Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, by Ghana’s Minister of Culture and Tourism.

Hajiya Saji Rano further noted that the award serves as a reminder of the significant progress Kano has made under Governor Yusuf’s leadership.

“This recognition further motivates us all to continue working towards realizing the vision of a prosperous and fair Kano State,” she added.
