LG plans museum, e-library to attract tourists

The Chairperson of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Surah Animashaun, has disclosed that the construction of a modern museum and an e-library was aimed at fostering education development and preservation of culture.

Animashaun disclosed this in a statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday.

The council boss noted that the ongoing construction of the facility was part of his administration’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting education development.

She added that upon completion, the facility would enrich the lives of visitors and residents.

Animashaun said, “Indeed, I am committed to ensuring that we have a local council that is safe, beautiful and ready for business, and upon completion, the museum and e-library will serve as a vibrant hub for learning, cultural preservation, and community engagement.

“It will also enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike. The facility will feature state-of-the-art amenities, including interactive exhibits, a comprehensive library, and multipurpose spaces for educational programs and community events.”

She stressed the readiness of the LGA to leverage its location for commercial benefits, noting that the museum and e-library would turn Epe into the commercial hub of Lagos State.

She urged tourists, visitors, learners and educationists across the state and its environs not to nurse any fear as the government will ensure a “smooth running of the museum and e-library when completed.”

“As we move forward, we remain committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule and within budget, so we look forward to celebrating the successful completion of this iconic facility, which will undoubtedly become a source of pride for our community,” Animashaun stated.
