NNPP Is Dead, Kwankwaso Set to Rejoin APC – Ganduje Declares

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is no longer relevant in the country’s political landscape, insisting that the party is “dead and ready to be buried.”

Ganduje made the statement in Abuja on Tuesday when he received members of the Tinubu Support Group on a courtesy visit to the APC national secretariat.

According to the former Kano State governor, the NNPP is on its last legs and its end is near. He suggested that even the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is already considering a return to the APC.

“The NNPP is dead. And it will soon be buried very, very soon,” Ganduje said. “I’m hoping that where we will put the dead body, the coffin has already been constructed. What remains now is to dig the grave. And already they are digging the grave very, very soon.”

Speaking further, Ganduje disclosed that his leadership is open to reconciliation and would welcome Kwankwaso back to the APC if he decides to return.

“Even like that, the so-called NNPP national leader, he too, he says after losing everyone, he wants to come back to us. We will welcome him, because he’s coming back home,” he added.

Ganduje also dismissed ongoing political alignments being formed against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence that such coalitions would collapse and their leaders would eventually return to the APC.
