Obey dances with Obasanjo at 83rd birthday party

Veteran juju musician, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, celebrated his 83rd birthday in style during the week, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers. The event, which held in Lagos, was a vibrant showcase of love and appreciation for the music legend.

The theme of the day was blue, with the welcome banner and cake adorned in the colour. Guests were greeted at the entrance by a display of the veteran’s photos alongside goodwill messages.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the presence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his wife, Bola. The moment Obasanjo spotted Obey, he joyfully lifted him from his seat and coaxed him into a dance. During his speech, Obasanjo expressed his admiration for the musician and wished him well

Adding to the festivities was fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, aka K1 de Ultimate, who was on hand to show his support. Upon entering the venue, K1 greeted guests, and prostrated himself before Obey. The two exchanged warm greetings and indulged in a brief conversation. Delivering a congratulatory message at the event, K1 prayed for Obey’s continued success and health.

To the delight of everyone present, the Ade Ori Okin singer later took to the stage to serenade the birthday boy, and entertain guests in his usual fashion.

Throughout the event, Obey wore a radiant smile, clearly touched by the outpouring of love and admiration from those around him.
