Ogun, Osun river basin demands accountability, collaboration to achieve food security

The newly appointed Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Mr Ayobami Oyalowo, on Wednesday, pledged to prioritise accountability and collaboration to achieve President Bola Tinubu’s food security agenda.

Oyalowo described Tinubu as a leader who is so committed to achieving food security and therefore deserves the support of all Nigerians to revolutionise the agricultural sector

The director disclosed this while speaking at an event organised to mark his official resumption of office as the newly appointed executive director of finance and administration of the Authority.

Oyalowo said that his office will provide proactive and robust financial support to ensure the successful execution of all projects under the purview of O-ORBDA.

He explained that “I am committed to fostering a harmonious and collaborative working relationship with the Board, management team, and all staff. I strongly believe that synergy among all levels of the Authority will yield outstanding results in achieving our shared goals.

“As such, my office will prioritise open communication, teamwork, and a conducive work environment that enhances productivity and innovation.

“Financial prudence, efficiency, and accountability will form the bedrock of my stewardship in this office.

“Working closely with my team members, I will ensure the judicious utilization of resources, adherence to best financial management practices, and the strengthening of our financial controls to enhance transparency and accountability”

Oyalowo has therefore solicited the cooperation and support of all staff, stakeholders, and partners in achieving the collective aspirations for the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.

He said, “I am confident that, through dedication, collaboration, and adherence to best financial and administrative practices, we will drive the Authority towards unprecedented success.”

Oyalowo thanked the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Eng. Joseph Utsev, as well as President Tinubu, for approving his appointment, and pledging not to betray the confidence reposed in him and other directors.

Welcoming Oyalowo and other newly appointed executive directors, the managing director and chief executive officer of O-ORBDA, Dr Deji Ashiru, described them as a crop of professionals who have what it takes to actualise the vision of President Tinubu in terms of adequate management of the water resources to boost food production.
