A total of 800 personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been deployed by the Gombe State Command for the Easter festivities across the state.
The deployment was announced by the State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu, on Wednesday in a press release made available to journalists on preparations by the Command.
According to him, the personnel were deployed to beef up security across the state for a peaceful Easter celebration in conjunction with other sister security agencies.
Muhammad Bello Muazu also assured the people of the state of adequate security before, during, and after the Easter celebration.
According to him, the officers and men deployed were drawn from the Operations Department, Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Disaster Management Unit, Intelligence and Investigations Department, Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear, and Energy (CBRNE), Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection Department, Anti-Vandal Unit, and Female Squad at the Command State Headquarters.
The commandant charged the personnel to be professional in the discharge of their duties, with a high sense of responsibility and the utmost diligence.
He further wished the people of the state and the Christian faithful a happy Easter celebration, as contained in a statement by SC Buhari Saโad, Public Relations Officer, Gombe State Command.
