Easter: Police beef up security in Edo

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, has ordered heads of police formations in the state to beef-up security in all locations ahead of the Easter celebration.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the commissioner gave the directive on Thursday during a meeting with the management team of the command.

Nwabuzor said the commissioner assured the public of a hitch-free celebration while felicitating the Christian community on the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

โ€œHe passionately directed the officer in charge of Motor Traffic Division to position his personnel in strategic traffic prone areas in the state to ensure a free flow vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

โ€œHe finally directed the Police Marine Officer to take charge of the waterways and ensure adequate security of citizens that travel through the water space,โ€ he said

According to the spokesperson, the commissioner further enjoined citizens to be security conscious.

He urged the public to report any incident in their localities to the nearest Police stations or other security agencies.
