Warning: This article contains spoilers for 9-1-1 Season 7
New images from 9-1-1 reveal the return of a character from season 2 of the series. 9-1-1 is a procedural drama about the lives of first responders who react to a melange of crises. 9-1-1 is currently in its seventh season, with episodes airing weekly on Thursdays on ABC.
As per TVLine, new images from 9-1-1 season 7 reveal the return of a character from an earlier season. This character is Tommy Kinard, who is played by Lou Ferrigno. According to the source, Tommy will step in to help save Bobby and Athena. In the images, Ferrigno is joined by Aisha Hindsโs Hen Wilson as they prepare for their rescue mission.
Ferrigno previously played Tommy in three โBeginsโ episodes during 9-1-1 season 2: โHen Begins,โ โChimney Begins,โ and โBobby Begins Again.โ Tommy is a firefighter for the Los Angeles Fire Department at the 118. Tommy also appeared in numerous episodes by mention only, including 9-1-1 season 2 episode โBroken,โ where it is mentioned that Tommy came to the rescue to help Chimney pour water over a burning neighborhood. The โBeginsโ episodes were flashback episodes, so Tommyโs 9-1-1 season 7 appearance will be the first time he appears in the present day.
Tommy is coming in at a time of great drama for 9-1-1 season 7, as the show reaches the conclusion of its three-part premiere. The episode, titled โRock the Boat,โ saw characters Bobby and Athena put through the ringer, as they became stuck in the mechanical room in rising water. The couple got saved from said room, but when the 9-1-1 episode ended, the ship was still sinking.
With Tommyโs help, Athena and Bobbyโs fated honeymoon cruise will likely not end in meeting their watery grave. 9-1-1 season 7 is already beginning with some of the most sensational content the series has had (possibly even higher stakes than the season 3 tsunami episode โSink or Swimโ). Bringing back a 9-1-1 season 2 character will only elevate the drama further as the series continues its ABC run.
