Today's Connections Hints & Answers For April 5, 2024 (Puzzle #298)

Friday is the best day and Connections is the best daily game. Today has a great selection of categories that might trip up some veteran players. Mixing niche topics and clever word-play is one of Connections biggest strengths and the thing that has us coming back day after day.

After the incredibly fun emoji gameplay of the April 1 Connections, it feels like the game could branch into so many different styles. Perhaps movie logos where you must find the actor connection, or instead of categories use music artists and the boxes are filled with song titles. There’s an endless possibility of gameplay options with the Connections brand and we would play them all.

Before we jump right into spoiler territory, we wanted to provide today’s categories for those players who are still trying to solve today’s answers themselves.

The first score for our Connections game today, yellow was definitely the easiest. Almost every word sticks out as a connection with COUCH and CHAIR being the first we noticed. At first our brain thought it would be ‘Types of Seating’ but after seeing TABLE and BED it was clear that the category was just ‘Furniture’. A decent start to a winning day.

Green was the third category for us to solve today as BEAR tried desperately to trick us with its GOLDILOCKS connection. We will admit we sat for a few extra minutes with both words highlighted staring at the puzzle in confusion, but we let that go and focused on the blue category which helped push us forward in the game. HOLD and MAINTAIN was eventually the catalyst for us to solve the green and move onto the win with the leftover words.

Ah yes, wine, the sophisticated drink of sophisticated sophisticates. We were well aware of these words as we have a most refined pallet. Like a well-made Moscato, SWEET and BALANCED were the starting words for us in the blue category. Followed by a DRY Pinot Noir, and the FULL bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. As a sophisticated person, I know that a Chardonnay goes best with chicken, while a Riesling brings out the notes in my Hickory Ham & Cheddar Hot Pocketยฎ.

Our leftover words for the day, purple once again fooled us. We had no clue what the category could be until it appeared, which is always fun. Luckily with the game of Connections, you don’t need to know everything, you just need to know enough. The metal starts to these words was very clever and a fantastic addition to an all-around great game.

Check out one of these other browser-based games below, and to spice it up, try to beat it before your Hickory Ham & Cheddar Hot Pocketยฎ is finished cooking. You’ve got 3 minutes and 15 seconds, or 28 minutes in an oven!
