Ahead of the Ondo governorship election, the aspiration of the Vice Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke, on Thursday, received a boost from the Conference of Nigeria Civil Rights Activists, (CNCRA) in the South West region of the country.
The CNCRA, a group of frontline Civil Rights
and pro-democracy activists at the forefront of campaigns for good governance in Nigeria, pledged their support for the governorship ambition of Kekemeke, who is a foremost aspirant on the platform of APC.
The group stated that the state is in dire need of experienced leadership, armed with the vision, mission, programmes, goals and core values to change the narrative and ensure development in the state.
Speaking, the South West chairman and the General Secretary (South West) Chief Adewumi Olowoniyi and Alhaji Adeniran Ikuesan respectively, described Kekemeke as a trusted and worthy fellow and politician whose integrity is not doubtful.
The CNCRA stated that: “Hon. Kekemeke’s political antecedents transcend all spheres of life and we cannot support any candidate who does not have anything at stake, such as second term syndrome.

Kekemeke has. contributed in no small measure to the struggle for the democratization of Nigeria during the dark days of the military juntas and has long identified himself with the masses of Nigeria, right from his days in the university.
“Kekemeke has demonstrated in the past, his pursuit for an egalitarian society and he is a strong proponent of free education and qualitative health care services and a strong proponent of restructuring of the Nigerian State.
“It is on the above and many more of his track records and political experience upon painstaking review of all other aspirants without any bias, favouritism but facts that, our organisation gladly supports and promotes the candidature of a man of diligence and patriotism”
The group stated that ” Kekemeke’s exceptional track record and dedication to political party’s values make him the ideal candidate to lead Ondo State forward.
“This endorsement followed a comprehensive selection process conducted by this group. We hereby commit ourselves to the Kekemeke governorship ticket and will activate all our structures to do the needful.”
