President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engineer Uzoma Nwagba as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).
In a statement released on Friday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, the appointment aligns with President Tinubuโs commitment to advancing financial inclusion and economic empowerment for Nigerians.
According to the statement, Nwagba holds a Masterโs of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a first-class Bachelorโs of Engineering from Howard University, Washington DC.
Before assuming this role, Nwagba served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Bank of Industry, overseeing micro-credit and other financial initiatives.
The 36-year-old also held positions as a Senior Investment Associate specializing in financial services at the African Capital Alliance and as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he led teams developing enterprise and mobile software for emerging markets.
President Tinubu anticipates that Nwagba, with his extensive background in finance and technology, will leverage his expertise to drive financial interventions and broaden access to credit across Nigeria.
Furthermore, Tinubu expects Nwagba to champion financial inclusion initiatives, ultimately improving the standard of living for Nigerians as they gain access to economic opportunities.
