Chucky season 3 has introduced a new hurdle for the murderous doll that seems impossible for him to beat: old age. Lexy, Devon, and Jake continue to try and either destroy Chucky or prove that he is alive, but are thwarted once more before the bloody massacre at the White House Halloween party. Chucky attempted to complete a ritual to escape his fate during the Halloween party, killing thirteen people in his quest to stay alive, but his plans failed. Meanwhile, Tiffany began to enact her plans to escape, using her voodoo tools to gain control over those around her.
Chucky continues to bring a blood-filled, gory good time to the White House as the doll tries to escape the most difficult enemy to defeat: time. While the series features truly horrific gore in each episode, Chucky continues to infuse humanity into the story not just through the heroes who try to stop the titular killer, but Chucky’s own fear of mortality as well. As Chucky reflects the worst side of humanity through selfishness and cruelty, Lexy, Devon, and Jake show the opposite, with love, heroism, and protectiveness driving their choices.
Screen Rant interviewed stars Zackary Arthur, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Bjoฬrgvin Arnarson about the second half of Chucky season 3. Arthur and Arnarson discussed the growth of the relationship between Devon and Jake, while Lind explained the struggle Lexy faces with wanting to kill Chucky, but needing information from him. The trio also shared why Colonel Chucky stands out as a favorite amongst the bunch.
Jake and Devon have been dancing around one another for years. However, fans were overjoyed when they finally took their relationship to the next level in the third season of Chucky. Arnarson and Arthur discussed their excitement at seeing these two finally together and exploring their relationship.
Chucky is more vulnerable than ever before in the third season as old age begins to catch up with him even as he continues to kill and hunt for power. While the characters see this as an opportunity to finally rid themselves of the demonic, murderous doll, Arthur is quick to temper hopes of finally stopping Chucky.
While Chucky’s newfound vulnerability may seem like an opportunity for the young heroes, for Lexy, it threatens her ability to find her missing sister, Caroline. Lexy is forced to face the duality of her desire to finally see Chucky dead after all he took from her and her need to get information from him, which gives him the upper hand.
Chucky follows a long legacy of television series that have brought the Oval Office to the small screen with incredible detail. The cast praised the crew’s ability to bring the White House to life on set and pointed out the countless photos of co-star Deven Sawa with Obama and the Pope.
Over the course of the series, there have been many iterations of Chucky. Lind and Arnarson explained why Colonel Chucky stood out from the others due to his look and how violent he was in wiping out the other Chuckies.
John Waters joined the cast this season as Wendell Wilkins, the creator of the Good Guy Dolls. Arthur praised the legendary Waters and his portrayal of Wilkins. He explained what Waters brought to the role.
