Lacey Buckingham had an unimpressive journey on My 600-lb Life season 10 but has since progressed toward her weight loss goals. The Kennewick resident was 36 when she showcased her journey on one of the best reality TV shows. At the time, Lacey was over 593 pounds and struggled with severe body pain and breathing issues. Fortunately for her, she was living with her boyfriend, Ricky, who helped care for her the best he could. During the episode, the couple traveled with Sharon (Ricky’s sister) to visit Dr. Now in Texas. While she won’t appear in My 600-Lb Life season 12, it’s time to revisit the former cast member.
Like other My 600-lb Life cast members, Dr. Younan Nowzaradan (also known as Dr. Now) gave Lacey a set of mini-weight loss goals she needed to achieve every month. However, she failed to drop weight due to her tragic past and food addiction. While Lacey missed a few appointments, she eventually decided to consult Dr. Now again and get an update on her future. However, it didn’t go well when Sharon exploded on Lacey, and Ricky dumped her midway. At the end of her episode, Lacey couldn’t achieve her weight-loss goal, and Dr. Now denied her the surgery.
Lacey’s journey on My 600-lb Life concluded in six months, losing only 11 pounds overall. At that time, she chose not to continue with Dr. Now, probably due to the 2100-mile difference between her home and Houston. However, she didn’t give up on her hopes of losing weight and began consulting a private physician. In 2023 (via Soap Dirt), Lacey announced that she hoped to be 470 pounds by the time she had her next doctor’s appointment.
Lacey was able to reach that goal and beyond, as she revealed in a TikTok from January that was down to 406 pounds. According to the latest update, the former My 600-lb Life star has dropped as much as 120 pounds, with some ups and downs. Since then, Lacey has lost even more weight. In a recent TikTok, Lacey confirmed she’s close to hitting 380 pounds. It seems Lacey has continued her weight-loss journey long after her time on My 600-lb Life.
Besides working on her physical fitness, Lacey has also focused on improving other body parts. In early 2023, the Washington native posted about her oral health and shared that the dentist gave her bad news. The young woman revealed (via TV Shows Ace), “I am getting ready to get dentures,” and shared that years of consuming a variety of medicines had caused her problems.
In her Facebook post, Lacey thanked insurance and shared that the next step toward dentures will occur in March 2023. The former reality TV star’s post got a lot of love from fans, who applauded her for improving her life. It’s unclear if she got dentures, but hopefully, she was able to get the healthcare she needed.
Since appearing on My 600-lb Life, Lacey has gained quite the following online. Lacey’s Instagram page has 2,400 followers, where she keeps them updated on her day-to-day life, offering inspirational quotes and even showing off her TikTok skills. On Lacey’s TikTok page, where she has over 2,700 followers, she is much more active. In fact, Lacey shared her most recent TikTok video just six days ago. In the short clip, the My 600-lb Life alum lets her fans in a little life update. She reveals that she recently chipped her tooth down the middle, causing the nerves to be exposed.
Due to this, Lacey now has a missing tooth. “I’ve chipped my front tooth all the way down the middle, and the nerves were exposed, so now I have a nasty hole at the front of my teeth,” she revealed. However, Lacey isn’t letting this mishap get her down. Lacey is still smiling and laughing despite the missing tooth. She also let her followers know she is almost down to 380 pounds.
Lacey has shared many TikToks before that. Lacey often shares words of encouragement in her videos and even posted one where she introduced herself. Lacey revealed in one video that she began taking her weight-loss journey very seriously around two years ago, which was around the time she was on My 600-lb Life season 10. She continues to share her weight loss and life updates on TikTok in 2024.
Lacey and Ricky had a great relationship on the show. During the end of the episode, Lacey even admitted that if it weren’t for Sharon, she’d be living her best life with her now ex-boyfriend. However, Lacey began dating someone new after the show. In a Reddit thread started by WonderedFar, they found a restraining order Lacey filed against a man named Dennis Wayne Eisele in June 2023. Dennis was served the papers, but it’s unclear what their relationship status is today (via Trellis). However, it seems likely that Lacey is single again.
Nowadays, Lacey loves to post inspirational quotes for her friends and followers and tries to spread positivity. She’s been posting more of her face and appearance, offering updates on her weight-loss journey when she can. The former My 600-lb Life star seems to be living a much better life than she did before she joined the show.
