Helldivers 2 Leaks Reveal New Weapons, Items, & Strategems

Helldivers 2 players hoping to increase their arsenals even further are in luck because a new handful of leaks suggest that a plethora of new tools will soon be added to the game. Ever since the game’s launch in February 2024, developer Arrowhead Studios has maintaining an astonishingly consistent release schedule for updates and patches, providing Helldivers with a constant influx of weapons and Stratagems. Fortunately, it appears that this tradition is set to continue as the war against the Automatons and Terminids grows more desperate as both factions steadily continue advancing towards Super Earth.

Collected by Legacy Gaming on YouTube, the most recent Helldivers 2 leaks indicate that the community can look forward to plenty of extra toys, including extremely powerful Anti-Tank Mines.

Originally shared to Reddit by user Emptynesz, these volatile explosives are deployed in much the same way as ordinary Anti-Personnel Mines but pack a much stronger bunch. The leaker shared video evidence of the Stratagem wiping out some of the most powerful Automatons in the game, including Hulks, Tanks and even the recently-added Factory Strider, which is known for withstanding some of the most deadly Stratagems in Helldivers 2.

Aside from the Anti-Tank mines, Emptynesz also shared footage of the new Airburst Rocket, which appears to be one of the most effective heavy weapons in the game, and the incoming EXO-49 Emancipator Mech that includes twin auto-cannons. Another leaker, QYP, added their discoveries to the recent pile of leaks by showing off the SEAF Troop Drop Stratagem which calls in a squadron of lower-rank soldiers to follow Helldivers. Based on the clip, the AI hasn’t been fully design yet so the early version is just a taste of what could make it into the game.

These new tools are exciting in their own right but Helldivers may need to use them to destroy one of the game’s grisliest objectives yet: The Grinder. Shared by leaker Irons1ghts, these contraptions will seemingly be a new structure deployed by the Automatons that will gather up the corpses of Super Earth soldiers and mash them up into viscera used to fuel the Bots. How this will factor into the ongoing narrative remains unclear, but given the recent introduction of the Automaton’s full military might, the enemy may become significantly more brutal in future updates.

As for when these updates will be rolled out remains unknown but Helldivers 2 is no stranger to quietly introducing new toys without telling the community. It’s entirely possible that a small balance patch could smuggle in these extra resourcesahead of a major story moment that introduces the Automaton’s grim grinder. Arrowhead Studios has already proven to be a master of engaging with the community so players have a great deal to look forward to in the future.
