King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM1, expressed his gratitude to Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu for appointing his daughter, Damilola, as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.
In a viral video captured during his performance at the coronation and birthday reception of Oba Sikirullah Apena, KWAM1 publicly thanked the governor for the appointment, revealing that it was his daughter who urged him to extend the appreciation.
The news of Damilola’s appointment has generated widespread congratulatory messages on social media platforms, with well-wishers celebrating this milestone in her career.
Among those extending their felicitations is Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, who commended Damilola for her hard work and contributions, deeming the appointment a well-deserved recognition of her efforts.
“Congratulations Barr. @damimarshall_ on your appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. This is a deserving recognition for your hard work and contributions to our party,” he wrote on his X platform
Similarly, Balogun Basia joined in the congratulatory messages, “Please, join me in congratulating my friend K1 and the entire family on the appointment of my daughter Barrister Basirat Damilola Marshall as the SSA to the governor of Lagos State on Tourism. Damilola, this shall be the beginning of many good things that will come your way and that of your siblings Insha Allah, Alaumoh Amin.”
Damilola, prior to her new role, was a principal partner at the law firm Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co. Her background in law, coupled with her active engagement in community affairs, has been cited as instrumental factors in her appointment to the position.
Efforts to obtain official confirmation from Gboyega Akosile, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, were ongoing at the time of reporting, as messages sent to his WhatsApp line remained unanswered.
