Veritas insists on compulsory dress code for students

Veritas University, Abuja, has insisted on a compulsory dress code for its students.

This, it said, is in line with the institutionโ€™s Studentsโ€™ Handbook, which upholds dress code for all students.

This was contained in an internal memorandum signed by the Acting Dean, Students Affairs, Dr Michael-Mary Akaigwe entitled, โ€˜Upholding Veritas University Dress Codeโ€™.

The memo expressed concern that while some male students were wearing earrings in the Catholic institution, their female counterparts put on โ€˜provocativeโ€™ tops.

It noted that from today (May 13), a special task force would uphold the dress code in the institution.

The document reads: โ€œWe have also noticed abnormalities in the colours of hair attachments, extravagant eyelashes and long, terrifying nails and henna on the bodies of some.

โ€œEffective Monday, May 13, 2024, a special task force from the Student Affairs Unit will be responsible for upholding the dress code in its entirety.โ€

Ensure you dress properly and comply with the services the task force is rendering to our university community.โ€
