Billionaire Kidnapper, Evans, Accepts Plea Bargain

Convicted billionaire kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, along with his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, facing charges of murder and attempted kidnapping, have chosen to pursue a plea bargain option.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the stateโ€™s lead counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, informed the court of this development on Thursday when the case was scheduled for re-arraignment.

The proceedings took place before Justice Adenike Cokers at an Ikeja High Court. Evans and his co-defendant were set for re-arraignment on an amended five-count charge encompassing murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and attempted murder.

Sule informed the court of the intention for re-arraignment but noted that the defendants had applied for a plea deal. He further stated that the plea bargain terms were under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro.
