Warning: Spoilers for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School

Johnny is among the new characters appearing in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. The new season sees the return of Bailee Madison as Imogen and a handful of other returning characters. After all, given the show’s horror-thriller genre, how many of the original characters will survive the season is yet to be determined.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School has a distinctly lighter atmosphere than Original Sin, but retains its slasher and horror elements. The story continues from Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin season 1’s ending. The new season follows Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa as they recover from their ordeal with “A,” also known as Archie Waters, and attempt to move on with their lives. However, their plans are disrupted by a new villain named “Bloody Rose,” adding fresh complications to their summer. Johnny is a new addition, and received substantial screen time in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 3.

In Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, Johnny is played by 24-year-old actor Antonio Cipriano. Ciprianohas been active as an actor since 2017. In Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, Johnny is a potential love interest to Imogen and her co-worker at the Millwood ice cream shop. The chemistry between the two is key to Cipriano’s role as Johnny in the show. In episode 3, Imogen saw Johnny flirting with some female customers and asking them out on dates, leading her to conclude he was a player.

However, it turns out that there is more to Johnny, and he may be a nice guy after all. He not only takes initiative to understand Imogen’s past, but he also empathizes with her and provides reassurance that he was not like Chip. Johnny even allowed Imogen to take a quick nap while he managed the ice cream shop. Cipriano plays this role with warmth, charm, and sincerity. He seems like a nice addition to the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School cast of young, fresh faces.
