8 All Of Us Are Dead Characters, Ranked By How Excited We Are For Their Season 2 Returns

Little is known about All of Us Are Dead season 2, but the show has a lot of characters whose return is exciting. The Netflix original K-drama, which was based on a webtoon called Now At Out School, premiered in January 2022 and was renewed for season 2 a few months later. All of Us Are Dead stood out from other zombie shows by following the first hours of the apocalypse and taking place almost entirely inside a school.

Although All of Us Are Dead killed off a lot of characters, most of the showโ€™s protagonists are still alive and expected to return in season 2. There are also a few names whose fates are unclear, such as Eun-ji and Cheong-san. Revisiting All of Us Are Dead whenever season 2 releases will be good on its own, but the chance of seeing certain characters again makes it even more exciting.

Jang Ha-ri barely interacted with the main All of Us Are Dead characters, spending most of the show fighting alongside Mi-jin on the other side of the school as she tried to reunite with her brother. Still, the archer made quite an impression in season 1, particularly with how fearless and precise she was when it came to killing zombies. Ha-riโ€™s action scenes in All of Us Are Dead alone would have been enough to make her season 2 exciting, but she is also part of two compelling storylines that can continue in the next season.

Firstly, All of Us Are Dead teased a potential romantic relationship between Ha-ri and Mi-jin, the latter of which had a crush on the former. The zombie K-drama could deliver a classic โ€œenemies to loversโ€ story with Ha-ri and Mi-ji, as they fought each other upon their first encounter but later became friends. Secondly, Ha-ri watched her brother die just as they were about to leave the city. Despite such massive tragedy, Ha-ri continues to be part of the group and even escapes the quarantine with them to meet Nam-ra.

Dae-su never lost hope during All of Us Are Dead season 1 and even sang to his friends when it seemed everything was doomed. The character also delivered some funny moments, something serving as a comic relief. Dae-su went through a lot, though, and had to watch many of his friends die. With Cheong-san gone and many others dead as well, Dae-su might not be as positive and funny in season 2 as he was in the first season. Still, the group will need Dae-suโ€™s courage and strength.

All of Us Are Dead focuses a lot on the main protagonists โ€“ Cheong-san, On-jo, Nam-ra, and Su-hyeok. However, the show would not have been as good as it was without supporting characters like Dae-su. Hopefully, the fact that Dae-su has such a strong and positive spirit does not mean he will be killed off in season 2 for shock value. Instead, All of Us Are Dead season 2 should give him even more moments to shine.

Park Mi-jin was one of the best All of Us Are Dead characters, even though her story only intersected with that of the protagonists at the end. Despite her attitude and temper, Mi-jin proved to be a good person who tried to protect her friends no matter what. The fact that her best friend, and perhaps only friend, had to stay behind made for one the most tragic scenes on the show. By the end of All of Us Are Dead season 1, Mi-jin had become part of the main group.

She is now living with them in the quarantine zone and even joined On-jo on her quest to meet up with Nam-ra at the schoolโ€™s rooftop. Mi-jin is one of All of Us Are Deadโ€™s comic reliefs, often delivering hilarious interactions. Her dynamic with Ha-ri, on whom she has a crush, is particularly funny considering they started the show as enemies. It will be interesting to see more of Mi-jin in All of Us Are Dead season 2 now that she is part of the main group and is not doing a โ€œside quest.โ€

Su-hyeok was a standout in All of Us Are Dead season 1, going from a former bully to one of the heroes of the show. All of Us Are Dead starts with Su-hyeok standing up against other bullies to make up for the time he used to hang out with them, which would be the first of many heroic moments for the character. Su-hyeok was ready to fight zombies with his bare hands and delivered some of the showโ€™s best fight scenes. Fortunately, the love triangle between On-jo, Su-hyeok, and Cheong-san teased in episode 1 didnโ€™t move forward.

Instead, Su-hyeok became romantically involved with Nam-ra, who initially had no friends at the school. The bond between Su-hyeok and Nam-ra set the tone for their stories in season 1, especially after was attacked by Gwi-nam and became a hambie. There was a level of tragedy to their relationship, as Nam-ra could always turn into a zombie and attack Su-hyeok. Although Nam-ra has since learned how to control her powers, it doesnโ€™t seem like the All of Us Are Dead couple will have their happily ever after just yet. Nam-ra cannot enter the quarantine zone after all.

On-jo suffered two major losses at the end of All of Us Are Dead, which is why itโ€™s exciting they will affect her in season 2. So-ju, On-joโ€™s father, had to sacrifice himself so that his daughter and her friends could escape from the school. On-jo watched as her father was attacked by zombies in one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the whole show. Just a few minutes later, On-jo had to watch Cheong-san, her best friend, do the same thing. Cheong-san stayed behind to fight Gwi-nam right as the bombarding of Hyosan was about to start.

The fact that Cheong-san had just confessed his feelings to On-jo when he had to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her and the rest of the group made the end of season 1 even more tragic. Although her friends are still with her, On-jo might be quite lonely in All of Us Are Dead season 2 after losing her father and best friend. How those losses will affect On-jo remains to be seen, although she appears to have remained strong despite going through so much. It was even On-joโ€™s idea to go after Nam-ra in the finale.

From the โ€œfake class presidentโ€ to the potential leader of the hambies, Nam-ra had a great character arc that will continue in All of Us Are Dead season 2. The first season ended with Nam-ra reuniting with her friends on the schoolโ€™s rooftop and revealing she could now control her powers. Nam-ra also revealed she had been living with other hambies, and that they needed protection now that the military was hunting whatever infected people were left in the city. All of Us Are Dead season 1 ended with Nam-ra jumping from the rooftop and showcasing her powers.

The scene at the rooftop strongly suggested that Nam-ra and the hambies will play a major role in the upcoming season 2. All of Us Are Dead could now be about protecting the hambies from the soldiers, which would flip season 1โ€™s story. This time, zombies would be the good guys. Regardless, All of Us Are Dead changed Nam-raโ€™s ending from the webtoon, most likely to set up her role as the leader of the hambies in season 2. Nam-ra cannot go back with her friends, but they might choose to stay with her rather than return to the quarantine zone.

What happened to Eun-ji in All of Us Are Dead is unclear, which is why her potential return in season 2 is exciting. While she could be dead after all, killing off Eun-ji offscreen would be a mistake. After season 1 spent so much time developing the character, from the scene in which she was being harassed by the bullies to her transformation into a hambie, Eun-ji shouldnโ€™t be forgotten. Considering her body was not shown in season 1โ€™s ending, there is still hope that Eun-ji is alive in All of Us Are Dead.

Eun-ji would make for a great villain in All of Us Are Dead season 2, even more so if the show shits its focus to the hambies. Although Eun-ji had plenty of reasons to go on a rampage after turning into a zombie, the fact that she killed Cheol-soo because she was hungry teased a dark turn for the character. Eun-ji was being experimented on by the scientist from the quarantine camp and may have been taken to a different facility, which is why her cell was empty at the end.

Cheong-san may or not be dead in All of Us Are Dead, with compelling arguments for either theory. On the one hand, itโ€™s difficult to imagine how someone could survive such a fall followed by the bombarding of the entire area. On the other hand, Cheong-san is too big of a character not to return in All of Us Are Dead season 2. The announcement video for season 2 even included Yoon Chan-young, who plays Cheong-san in All of Us Are Dead.

It must also be noted that Cheong-san was bitten in the arm by Gwi-nam during their fight, which could explain how the former survived. All of Us Are Deadโ€™s hambies have shown to be very resistant, as seen with Gwi-nam surviving multiple certain death scenarios. Even if Cheong-san is alive, his return might not be a happy one. There was a time jump at the end of All of Us Are Dead, meaning that, if Cheong-san is still alive, he chose not to reunite with his friends for some reason.
