Legendary Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey said he discovered his musical talent while working at a motor park.
He revealed this during a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast.
“I was working in the motor park as a ticketer when someone told me I have a good voice and that I should consider becoming a musician.
“At first, I was skeptical because I didn’t know how to sing but when I attempted it, I discovered that everyone liked it so that was how I became a musician,” he said.
In the debate over young artists downplaying the influence of music legends on their careers, Daddy Showkey stated he isn’t keen on claiming credit for paving the way.
He believes it’s up to the younger artists who’ve benefited from his legacy to acknowledge it.
