The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, on Monday, inaugurated a newly built Government Secondary School, Rigachikun in Igabi Local Government Area of the State.
The governor, while addressing the gathering, pledged to build additional 50 secondary schools across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
He noted that the decision by his administration to embark on massive educational infrastructure was to address one of the constraints that hindered access to education.
According to the governor, education remains the greatest investment against poverty and insecurity.
He stated further that the newly constructed schools were equipped with state-of-the-art technology, innovative learning spaces and safety features that ensure that children focus on what matters most โ acquiring knowledge and developing their full potential.
He said, โyou will recall that when I performed the groundbreaking for the construction of this school on 31st August 2023, I made a commitment that it would be speedily completed. We have matched our words with action, to the glory of Almighty Allah.
โThis milestone marks a significant step in our efforts at addressing one of the leading constraints that hinders access to education โ accessible, safe and conducive learning spaces. Children who learn in conducive environments are confident, relate well with others and are more creative and innovative.
โOur administration has prioritised education because it is the best investment against poverty and insecurity. When you give a person education, you have empowered him or her for life. You have given the person an opportunity to realise his or her potential. An educated person cannot be easily manipulated by forces of evil or conflict merchants. An educated girl or woman is a huge asset to society.
โThis project is one of the 62 secondary schools construction/rehabilitation projects awarded in the first phase of our administrationโs educational revitalization drive. Most of the projects have been completed and commissioned. The remaining ones are on the verge of completion.
โWe are finalising arrangements for the award of 50 additional secondary schools construction projects. These modern educational facilities are more than just buildings; they represent a commitment to providing our students with the best possible environment to learn, grow, and thrive.
โThey are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, innovative learning spaces, and safety features that ensure our children can focus on what matters most โ acquiring knowledge and developing their full potential.โ
