Immigration Service: 107,646 passports await collection nationwide

The Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has urged passport applicants to promptly collect their passports from various centres across the country.

According to Nandap, there are currently 107,646 passports awaiting collection despite repeated attempts to contact the owners.

In a statement released by the NIS Spokesperson, Kenneth Udo, on Friday, applicants were advised to provide accurate addresses and phone numbers during the online application process to facilitate easy communication.

Nandap emphasized the importance of this step to prevent similar issues in the future and ensure effective communication with applicants.

The statement highlighted that all Passport Offices in Lagos will now operate on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm exclusively for passport collection.

Applicants are encouraged to utilize this extended service to retrieve their passports promptly.
