PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has underscored the significance of leaders collaborating towards a shared objective.
Tinubu stated this during the inauguration of the Outer Southern Expressway in Abuja, adding that the nation could achieve greater success if politicians set aside their partisan interests.
Vice President Kashim Shettima who represented Tinubu, pointed to the completion of various projects nationwide as evidence of the country’s potential accomplishments.
He highlighted that the successful conclusion of the expressway project serves as a symbol of the effectiveness of cooperation and teamwork.
“The completion of this project is not only a piece of engineering but a testament to the power of collaboration and partnership. It is a shining example of what we can accomplish when we work together towards a common goal, transcending political divide and personal interest for the greater good of our nation,” he said.
“This ambitious undertaking holds profound significance for the FCT and its residents. The expansion of the Outer-Southern Motorway will not only alleviate traffic congestion and improve transportation but will also stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for prosperity.”
Speaking further, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike acknowledged past challenges the city has faced, including the 11-year delay in completing the road project initiated in 2013.
He highlighted how the Renewed Hope Agenda seeks to enhance the lives of Abuja residents.
“Mr President said that every uncompleted project must be completed. Under the Treasury Single Account (TSA), it was very difficult for us to continue with this project, but because the President allowed us to pull out of the TSA, it became easy for us to access funds and pay the contractors who now have confidence in our ability to pay,” Wike said.
Wike assured FCT residents that beyond road infrastructure, the government is dedicated to revamping the city’s educational institutions, ensuring that all schools meet required standards.
