Nigerian singer Davido’s first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, has filed her defence in a lawsuit initiated by the “Feel” Artist over the custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke.
The 102-paragraph counter-affidavit was filed by her legal team, Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun.
Recall that the father of four recently filed a suit seeking custody of their daughter.
The suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, lists Mr David Adedeji Adeleke as the applicant and Ms Sophia Momodu as the sole respondent, marking the beginning of their legal battle over the child’s custody.
Through his legal action, Davido is seeking a court order granting him joint custody of his daughter, Imade, and unrestricted access to her.
According to the singer, he has consistently fulfilled his financial responsibilities towards their child’s well-being. Despite this, he claims Sophia has made unreasonable demands designed to harass and frustrate him.
Davido hopes to guarantee that he will always be involved in his daughter’s life by requesting joint custody and unrestricted access.
However, the mother of one through her solicitors, denied the claims, saying Davido was the one who, of his own volition, stopped seeing their daughter since July 2022.
In addition, Momodu disclosed that for the previous two years, she has been the only one raising their daughter, while Davido has been posting images of Imade on social media to give the impression that he is an involved and loving father.
The next hearing is slated for 5th of July, 2024.
