President Bola Tinubu will meet with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Thursday in Abuja to continue discussions on a new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
The meeting, set to take place at the Aso Villa, aims to resolve the ongoing debate over the proposed new wage levels.
According to a report by Channels Television, the President has invited labour leaders to deliberate on the N62,000 proposal from the government and private sector, as well as the N250,000 demand from the Organised Labour.
This meeting comes about a month after President Tinubuโs Democracy Day speech on June 12, 2024, where he promised to send an executive bill on the new minimum wage to the National Assembly for passage.
