Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has explained why he is not close to his first daughter.
During an interview with popular media personality Timi Agbaje, the singer revealed that he had a child with another woman before marrying his wife, Yetunde, popularly known as Chef Yeide.
The father of two, however, described fatherhood as one of his greatest achievements but admitted that his lack of connection with his first daughter’s mother has affected his relationship with his daughter.
“The greatest thing I ever achieved is becoming a father, I have two kids but I’m not close to my other daughter but to have the joy of that is my greatest achievement.
“It’s complicated circumstances. No family is perfect, but I’m not close to the mother of my first daughter.
“I wasn’t married when I had my first daughter. Interestingly, I only had premarital sex twice before my first daughter was born.” he said.
