Jose Mourinho’s plan to turn Fenerbahce into a title-winning side has taken a new dimension as the former Chelsea boss has identified the need for a free-scoring striker, Soccernet.ng reports.
Mourinho, appointed to take charge of the Turkish giants last month, has found the going tough building the team he desires.
Fenerbahce have won one of their three preseason friendlies: a 2-1 victory against Petrolul 52 has been followed by a 1-1 draw with Admira Wacker and a chaotic 1-0 loss to Gennaro Gattuso’s Hajduk Split.
The number one striker at Mourinho’s disposal is Edin Džeko who at 38 years could find the coming season an even more challenging adventure. At the same time, attackers Cengiz Ünder, Emre Mor, and Mehmet Nayir have not convinced Mourinho with their output.
Mourinho wants more and, according to Koray Güçlü as per Transfer Postasi, OGC Nice forward Terem Moffi is one of the attackers on the transfer list of Fenerbahce.
Moffi is preparing with OGC ahead of the new Ligue 1 season and their Europa League challenge.
However, a chance to work with one of the most successful coaches in history could tempt him to leave OGC Nice for Fenerbahce.
The Nigeria international has a decent goalscoring record in France, with 51 goals and 12 assists in 133 Ligue 1 appearances.
Over his club career, the 25-year-old has managed 82 goals in 193 games. For the Nigeria national team, Moffi has found the net four times in 18 appearances taking his entire career record to 86 goals.
Moffi joined OGC Nice initially on loan from Lorient in January 2023 before making the deal permanent in July for a combined €25 million.
