Senate President Godswill Akpabio has raised concerns over persistent economic sabotage that has severely impacted investor confidence in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Senate ad-hoc committee on Monday, Akpabio emphasized the urgency of identifying and holding accountable those responsible for these criminal activities.
“This is not merely an investigation but a rescue mission for the nation’s future,” Akpabio declared, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
“It is a matter of national security and sovereignty, and if left unchecked, could cripple the economy for generations to come.”
The Senate President charged the committee members to collaborate with relevant agencies, industry experts, and stakeholders to thoroughly investigate and uncover the root causes of the economic sabotage.
“We must leave no stone unturned,” he urged, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and rigorous approach to solving the issue.
