The Abia State University has announced a one-week lecture-free period to ensure the safety of its staff and students.
The directive which was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Acho Elendu, the universityโs Registrar on Wednesday said โthe Senate of Abia State University has approved the lecture-free week, effective immediately from July 31, 2024โ.
This decision is intended to allow students enough time to prepare for the upcoming 2023/2024 first semester examinations, which are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
The university has also advised all staff members and students to avoid unnecessary travel during this period to ensure their safety.
The statement also urged the university community to adhere to the guidelines provided.
