Many commercial drivers have been stranded at motor parks due to the nationwide protests against bad governance in Nigeria.
The protests are scheduled from August 1 to 10 across the federation.
โWe are not loading,โ a driver of a popular commercial transport company, Emenike Okafor, told NewsNGR Thursday morning in Enugu.
โI got to Enugu Wednesday night, hoping to return to Abuja this morning. There are no passengers, and our company isnโt even loading passengers. The difficulty is that I might stay away from my family until the end of the protests unless something miraculous happened.โ
Mr Okafor is not the only victim of the protests.
A driver, who identified himself as Ogbonna, told our correspondent via telephone that, โMy in-law will be buried on August 2 at Nsukka. As I speak with you, Iโm at Zuba Motor Park in Abuja. Only God knows how I will return home to participate in the burial.โ
