Renowned content creator Reno Omokri is provoking the emotions of Ndigbo via his social media handles to generate money through the increased traffic.
This is the view of the foremost legal luminary, Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor. Ejiofor identified Mr Peter Obi and Ndigbo at large among Omokri’s tools of making online money.
Obi was the standard-bearer of the Labour Party during the 2023 presidential election.
Omokri, former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, had through his X been portraying the image of Obi negatively.
Ejiofor, who made the revelation through his verified Facebook page, revealed that Omokri’s often provocative posts against the Igbo race were his craft to make a living.
He wrote, “Meet Reno Omokri — a renowned content creator whose major source of sustenance is from the financial gains he repeatedly records from your reactions on his Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), controversial/unfounded claims.
“Reno deliberately crafts insulting, derogatory, and disdainful posts targeting the Igbos, in his relentless ethnic baiting against Igbos, and the person of Peter Obi.
“Why? Because he knows that by provoking you, he can drive up traffic and engagement on his posts.
“Your comments and engagements will inevitably promote his business by sustaining traffic and popularity on his platforms which will make way for steady returns on his chosen career, which usually runs into millions of Naira and USD.”
He said Omokri would stop at nothing from such posts because he earns outrageously from such posts.
According to him, “And to your estimation, you think that a man who earns this outrageous sum will change pattern; he cannot unless you stop him.
“His strategy is simple: manipulate your emotions to increase his content’s reach and revenue.
“By constantly engaging him to possibly dislodge his often deliberate falsehood, you become an enabler of his intentions and flourishing business.
“He is not a patriot in the affairs of this nation; it is only for business enterprise.”
Ejiofor therefore encouraged Ndigbo to ignore Omokri’s content provocations to destroy his source of social media earnings.
He wrote, “Silence speaks volumes.
Unfollow him. Do not give him the satisfaction of your attention. Spread the word. Let others know how he operates.
“As an Igbo man, you hold the power. Use your brain and stand together to diminish his influence. Let this message go viral and take back control from those who exploit our community for their gain.”
