Nekede Poly: Host Community, Alumni Praise Council For Fair Rector Screening Process

The youth of Umudibia, the host community of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, and the institution’s alumni association have commended the Polytechnic’s governing council for conducting a transparent and fair screening process for the position of Rector.

Comrade Ability Okoroafor, president of the Umudibia youth organisation, congratulated Hon. Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, Chairman of the 15th Governing Council, and council members for their efforts in ensuring a free, fair, and transparent screening process for the selection of the 9th substantive Rector.

He said: “The Federal Polytechnic Nekede stands as a beacon of educational excellence and a pillar of development within our community.

“As the host community, we recognize the profound impact that the leadership of this institution has on our socio-economic and cultural well-being.

“The meticulous screening process overseen by the council and external resource persons has not only reinforced the integrity of the polytechnic but has also instilled confidence in the process among all stakeholders.

“The transparent process that led to the selection of the 9th substantive Rector assures us that the Federal Polytechnic Nekede will continue to thrive under capable leadership.

“We are optimistic that the new Rector will build on the foundations laid by their predecessors, fostering an environment where the institution and the host community grow hand in hand.

Herbert Ikechukwu Nnadoro the Alumni Board of Trustees Secretary, In a letter of appreciation on behalf of the Alumni Association thanked members of the schools governing council for the successes recorded in the free and fair screening conducted.

He however pledged the associations support for the council and it’s leadership saying that they are very happy with successes recorded in the shortest possible time they came to power.

“We write to commend you and the entire members of the 15th Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Nekede-Owerri for a successful conduct of the just-concluded substantive Rectorship interview. The peaceful, transparent and rancour-free process is unprecedented in the history of Rectorshipselection interviews in our alma mater.

“We have been observing the near-Solomon wisdom and maturity the 15th Governing Council under your leadership has been exhibiting within the short period of time it has been on the saddle. This is indeed a pointer to good things to come.

“The Alumni Association of Federal Polytechnic Nekede-Owerri is very happy with your actions so far. Because of the transparent nature of the exercise, we will be happy to work with whoever that emerges from the process.

“Once again, accept our heartfelt felicitation. Together we will make Federal Polytechnic Nekede-Owerri a model.
