THE political situation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has taken a dramatic turn, as the state high court dismissed caretaker committee chairman Tony Okocha today.

Justice Sika Aprioku instead overturned the removal of Emeka Beke and reinstated him as APC chairman.

Additionally, the court invalidated the dissolution of the elected state working committee led by Beke and annulled Okochaโ€™s appointment along with his caretaker committee members.

The judge also issued an order prohibiting Okocha and his team from presenting themselves as executive members of the APC in the oil-rich state.

In a quick response, Okocha questioned the judgeโ€™s motivations for the ruling against him, maintaining that he remains in charge and plans to appeal the decision.

In a different press conference, Beke expressed his gratitude to his supporters for their steadfastness and to the judiciary for remaining resolute.

When asked about other matters, Beke confirmed that the APC would participate in the council elections, that Martin Amaewhule and 24 other lawmakers are APC members, and that they would be invited to reaffirm their loyalty in the coming days.
