Victor Osimhen faces Napoli fine after nightclub row

REPORTS in Italy have claimed that Victor Osimhen was involved in a recent night club confrontation that could lead to Napoli punishing him.

The Super Eagles striker appears destined to leave Napoli this season but the Serie A side are yet to receive an offer they consider good enough for their prized asset.

Despite his desire to leave and the clubโ€™s willingness to let him go, Osimhen is still an employee of Napoli and they could discipline him.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reported that Osimhen could be in trouble and narrated how the Nigeria international got himself into the sticky situation.

โ€œThe Napoli striker (Osimhen) was the protagonist of an unpleasant altercation last night with a fan who, after recognising him, was filming him with his cell phone in a public place,โ€ the outlet wrote.

โ€œNothing sensational, except that the striker disguised with a cap with a visor once he noticed the filming decided to push his way through the crowd to snatch the phone from the admirerโ€™s hands.

โ€œThe player seemed rather annoyed, perhaps because he was caught late at night in the Neapolitan nightlife.

โ€œIn addition to the embarrassing situation, a fine is likely on the way; Antonio Conte does not compromise on certain things.โ€

Osimhen is believed to be admired by Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea but both clubs are unwilling to pay the โ‚ฌ130m release clause in the contract he signed last year.

The 25-year-old Nigeria international joined Napoli from Lille in September 2020 for around โ‚ฌ80m and has been one of the best players in Serie A since then.

Osimhen was the top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals in the 2022/2023 season, inspiring Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.
