The Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, on Tuesday, presented 11 brand new cars to judges in the state.
The cars presented to the state’s Chief Judge, Joisah Mejabi, were in fulfillment of the promise made by the governor to the judges on July 17, 2024, during the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed judges for various courts in the state.
The event was held at the Muhammad Buhari Square, Lokoja, where Governor Ododo promised to deliver the last batch of the vehicles soon.
Ododo, who was represented by the Kogi Head of Service, Elijah Evimemi, said his administration is dedicated to improve the welfare of judicial officers in the state to aid the good work they do.
He said “The issuance of the 11 vehicles is in fulfillment of my promise to the judiciary on the day of the swearing-in of newly-appointed judges in July to add more cars to the judiciary,”
“That day, this government gave out 14 vehicles and today, we are giving out 11 more to our hardworking judicial officers in the state and hope to supply more soon so that it can go round all our judges and magistrates operating in the state.”
Ododo urged the judicial officers to reciprocate the government’s gesture by doing justice to all and sundry seeking their service in courtrooms.
Responding, the Chief Judge thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise by donating the vehicles to the judicial officers in the state.
Mejabi said the vehicles will help the judges discharge their duties: “I can openly say here that his administration is an inclusive one that is characterised by fairness and justice.
“Ododo is a man of his words. His words are followed by actions. I believe he will soon donate the last batch of the vehicles to us so that all the judicial officers will have theirs,” he said.
